Everyone looked up at her as the alarm continued to sound. Tegwen looked around, only to find the security guards rushing for her. On the outside of the store, a police man was stepping from his vehicle.

"Oh God," Tegwen gasped. Before any of the security guards could reach her, Tegwen sprinted out of the store. She brushed by the cop and continued running.

"That's her! That's the girl! Get her!"

Just then, she heard the police car turn on its siren. Glancing over her shoulder, Tegwen saw the black and white on her tail, chasing her down Canardian Drive.

Negative thoughts raced through Tegwen's head as she raced through the streets, trying to lose the police car that followed close behind.

I'm not gonna make it, she thought, panting. They're gonna catch me and lock me away!

Tegwen spotted a narrow alleyway a few yards down one street that she figured the police car wouldn't be able to drive down and headed for it.
