Tegwen wandered the empty halls of her house numbly, noticing how eerily silent it was. The ticking of the grandfather clock was absent. Tegwen ran into the living room, expecting to find that her house had been burglarized. She stood there in awe, seeing nothing touched, nothing moved or altered in any way. The grandfather clock hadn't been stolen, but for some reason it had stopped running. The time read 10:55.

"Now I know that's not right," Tegwen said, shivering to herself. She raced into the kitchen. The clocks on the microwave and oven both blared 10:55. She sprinted up the stairs. Every single clock in the house read 10:55. In the light of her room, Tegwen looked down at her watch apprehensively. She stared at it as the second hand slowly made its way around the face. It was 1:25 AM. Every clock in the house had stopped about ten minutes after Tegwen had witnessed her parents getting stabbed. When they died, she realized. A cold chill ran down her spine. "I have to get out of here!!" Tegwen grabbed a few of her most precious belongings, stuffing them into a plastic grocery bag and ran out of the house, refusing to look back.
