CHAPTER SIXTY

"Look, just sit down. It's going to be so dark in here, you won't be able to see who you're sitting by." Megavolt insisted, pushing Tegwen down into her seat. She hunched over, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. He sat down quickly beside her.

"Thanks, scumbag, for getting us such wonderful seats," Tegwen scowled. She turned away, extremely angry, only to find herself staring at Gabriel in the seat beside her. "Gabe --" she said. "Uh --"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow at her. "Hey." She turned back to the stage and the slowly rising curtain.

Tegwen drew in a deep breath. Okay, she thought, looks like this girl's as happy to see me as I am, her. She turned back to the stage in a huff. This is gonna be such a fun night . . . Maybe I can sneak out to go to the bathroom and just not come back. Leave Megavolt behind.

That thought was dashed as the orchestra soared into the overture, and the citizens of Paris danced their way down the aisles toward the stage. Tegwen was unequivocally trapped.
