"Tegwen!" A voice called to her through the darkness. "Tegwen?"

She turned around, facing St. Canard again just as a shadow emerged from the fog, wheezing loudly.

"I found you!" Megavolt gasped for air, clutching at his ribs with his right hand.

"Megavolt," Tegwen said slowly, her eyes growing wide. "What are you doing here?"

"Coming after you," he replied, bending over. He was still trying to catch his breath, resting his hands on his knees.

Tegwen watched him, completely perplexed. "But . . ."

Megavolt waved at her frantically, trying to silence her.

"I don't understand --"

"Neither do I," Megavolt told her between heaving breaths. "You wanted to work with me. You wanted to kidnap Darkwing. But you took off as soon as we got to the Jewel Garden."

Tegwen looked away from him. He'd never understand.

"What happened?" Asked Megavolt, slowly straightening up. "Why did you run out like that? It was like you saw a ghost or something!"

I can't tell him, Tegwen thought stubbornly. I won't tell him. No one will know. No one would care! Least of all a psychotic supervillain.

"Hey, Ducky," Megavolt poked Tegwen on her shoulder gently. "C'mon. Are you okay?"

"I'm thirsty," she croaked after a moment. Tegwen glanced up at Megavolt, her bangs falling sloppily across her forehead.

"You wanna go get a drink?" He asked her timidly. "Or something?"

"'Or something' sounds good," Tegwen replied, forcing herself to smile. 'Or something' could wash the pain away if it were alcoholic enough!

"I know the perfect place," he said, turning to lead the way.

"The Old Haunt or whatever it's called?"

"Nah. The Goldeneye." Megavolt smiled. "Their bartender is the best in St. Canard."

"So what makes you think I'm even old enough to drink?" Tegwen inquired suddenly, giving Megavolt a sly look.

"You're not?" Megavolt stuttered. "I -- I assumed --"
